NCAA COLLEGE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES







The Monday games where rather interresting with the elimination of Cal State Fullerton , with the loss to Virginia and a 10 to 6 loss to Arkansas on Saturday.
The Cal State Fullerton team was expected to win the title this year after the Unversty of Florida lost there elimination game to Southern Mississippi.The next team to get elilinated was Southern Mississippi with a loss to Texas 7 to 6 and a loss to North Carolina 11 to 4 . The teams left to battle it out would have to be on there game to win there chance to play in the CWS .The next team on the bubble was Virginia with one loss already to the very strong LSU , they had to play Arkansas in what would be the game of the week so far . The game started at 7:00 pm EDT on ESPN with the Virginia taking the lead with 3 runs and held it till the ninth inning when Brett Eibners's two-out,two-run homer off Virginia closer Kevin Arico to make it tied at 3 to 3 with Virginia up at bat next . They battled each other till late into the night going all the way to the 12th inning with Arkansas up at bat and they put one on base and then got two more hits and brought in the winning score, then with third out it was Virginia to try to answer but to no evail. Virginia had a man on third with two outs and with Franco Valdes at the plate he was thrown out at first on a dropped third strike to end the game .The Arkansas team will have to face LSU in the next game , they have already lost one game to LSU and will need to win the next two meetings to get into the championship game . The next two teams that will play in tonights game are North Carolina and Arizona State , with both of them with a loss already in this double elimination series . The two teams have played each other once so far with Arizona with a 5 to 2 win over North Carolina on this past sunday . The game will start tonight at 7:00 pm EDT on ESPN . This will be a good game to watch and to write about in fridays post so till then take care and good reading .
